Ride for 150-200 miles , done for the day ? Pretty much

  2. @MRHallAuthor on January 31, 2025 at 3:15 pm

Too expensive and not enough range. Early days of the tech. Give it 5 years, maybe.

When the big four offer E bikes these companies will probably go away.

The livewire 1 is 16, 998 before tax and license fees here in my state, and in used condition too. Might go with it if i can get my $25k

One day in my life I want to buy myself one of these biks that are definitely listed on this video

And how about the Lightning LS218? Did they improved the battery life at high speed?

  12. @lazziebardakos2956 on January 31, 2025 at 3:33 pm

Had to give this video a thumbs down as it’s catered only for those in the US. It only gives range and speed in miles

  13. @walterjohnson2031 on January 31, 2025 at 3:33 pm

I believe you said long distance riding !!!! I ride twice the range of these bikes you have here in the morning and then again in the afternoon. I just don’t have the 4 hour charging time providing I can find a charging station. Local in town is what these bikes are really capable of. For the prices you listed for the better ones I can buy three MT09 s with money left over.

  14. @jccuchvjvj on January 31, 2025 at 3:36 pm

Two times too expensive to even be competitive to a combustion engine motorcycles

  15. @timeWaster76 on January 31, 2025 at 3:36 pm

Top speed allowed in the US is 70 mph or 112 km/h

  16. @flitsies on January 31, 2025 at 3:36 pm

But the price excludes most riders.

  17. @MrBlackace66 on January 31, 2025 at 3:37 pm

Where are the 2024 models as well? Why are we still talking about bikes from 2021 and 2023?😊😊😊😊

10 Longest Range Electric Motorcycles in 2023

  23. @Clampett01 on January 31, 2025 at 3:45 pm

Why do these brands lie about predicted real World range? Anyone who understands basic physics will recognise these blatant untruths. Pure BS. Test, verify, validate and only then promulgate. These seem to be the hardest words and things to do for these snake oil companies.

  24. @hayabusaTravels on January 31, 2025 at 3:47 pm

No electric motorcycle can compete on range with the most efficient internal combustion engines…. what are you talking about???

  25. @alexsebastian3981 on January 31, 2025 at 3:48 pm

Future design of motorcycle the tire on the back should be at least be covered

  26. @d.f.9064 on January 31, 2025 at 3:48 pm

If manufacturers stopped worrying about killer torque and 0-60 times they could make a decent bike for everyone that just might be successful.

  27. @gbinman on January 31, 2025 at 3:50 pm

Your definition of long range is way lower than mine. I am glad they are getting higher numbers than the early models. With these ranges and the current charging structure even if they could use Tesla SuperChargers, there are so many places they cannot go.

Why the ICE sounds between clips for electric bikes?

  30. @Olson2BW on January 31, 2025 at 3:56 pm

I’m just hopeful that I’ve still be alive and riding when there is FINALLY a touring motorcycle that my wife will LOVE getting on the back of, have ENOUGH storage, and gets up to MINIMUM 200 miles range on one charge BEFORE I start having to worry about charging. BEFORE I start worrying about charging. BEFORE I start having to worry about charging.

Is that nuts? NO! You don’t see cars having only 200 miles of range and I’m not a motorcycle riding with an IQ of 25. I KNOW when to stop and take a rest. And by the way, I want to be able to ride to where I’m getting and then plug in and having it charge up over night and then be ready to ride some more.

Notice I didn’t mention anything about charging –during– the day? Right? Because the fun of riding a motorcycle is –riding– the motorcycle. Not the charging bit. And if you aren’t smart enough to know when you stop and rest, maybe you shouldn’t be the one holding onto the handlebars.

So what would ___I___ like for a motorcycle? Think of a Honda GoldWing or BWM K1600 top of the line with 200 miles of range where I’m going between 65 and 80 mph all day long non stop. Honestly, I would prefer 400 miles of range. But I know that won’t happen during my life time. And BTW, I’ve ridden from Seattle to Springfield, MO in 4 ½ days and was well rested when I got there.

My wife was actually disappointed the destination wasn’t longer. Not that we wanted to go to Florida but we were just enjoying our ride so much. You just have to have the right vehicle for the job. And the ride that we had at the time, as 1200 cc 1987 Honda Goldwing Aspencade was THE bike for that ride. And I can’t wait for there to be an electric bike equivalent to that to come around. I’m talking about range, speed, handling, comfort, storage, and not just some of those but ALL of those.

When I can comfortably go from Seattle to Springfield, MO in 4 ½ days on a motorcycle, while pulling a cargo trailer with all our camping gear in it like we did on our ’87 GoldWing, to me, that will be when electric motorcycles will have arrived.

PS: Think I’m an old fart because I liked our GoldWing for our long trip? Ask your significant other how happy they are after an almost 2200 mile trip in 4 ½ days and then come talk to me. And we ride back to Seattle five days later after putting another 600 miles on our GoldWing riding around the greater Springfield, MO area during that week.

    $29k for the Harley Livewire!?
Whack…….. and only 140 city miles?!
Wonder if it would be possible to add regenerative braking to recharge the battery?

  34. @RPRosen-ki2fk on January 31, 2025 at 3:58 pm

I took this video serious until you got to the last two, which are JOKES/VAPORWARE. The rest of the bikes are legit though.

  35. @alexsebastian3981 on January 31, 2025 at 3:59 pm

The future design of motorcycle should be least the back tire should be covered like the old Vesta

  36. @สพลดนัยวินิจสร on January 31, 2025 at 3:59 pm

    .

  37. @Patiboke on January 31, 2025 at 4:02 pm

I love the Livewire but I sat on one at a carshow, way too agressive seating position, very uncomfortable. Needs different handlebars and footpegs. Changing this would be expensive because it’s a very well made bike. I also love the Verge But that headlight is ugly, why couldn’t they put the two lights next to eachother? 🙄

  38. @MarioMario-rh3rk on January 31, 2025 at 4:02 pm

300 miles range as long you keep your top speed at 60mph r u kidding me i should by a elctric bicycle 😂

  39. @planettudor on January 31, 2025 at 4:02 pm

The range of electric motorbikes is a joke. You have to drive like a priest to obtain the promised range.

  40. @HoodLodo on January 31, 2025 at 4:03 pm

So we just gonna act like we didnt just hear this mofuka say 1000 foot pounds of torque!!! Like wtf kind of scale of measure do electric bikes run off! Bruh one fuckin thousand!?!?!!?

  41. @imbranjamil4994 on January 31, 2025 at 4:03 pm

    Memang best moto2 basikal

  42. @Ari-pw6nu on January 31, 2025 at 4:05 pm

Harley-Davidson in general is expensive. It’s more a lifestyle brand than a motorcycle manufacturer these days. Hell, for decades.

  43. @EDWARDG0916pnut on January 31, 2025 at 4:06 pm

Now I just need to win the lottery to be able to buy one of these bikes. I am looking for the longest range but definitely not getting there the fastest.

  44. @mauioffroadriders2798 on January 31, 2025 at 4:06 pm

You missed Kollter RS1 with 128 miles for $10k.

  45. @rmcfete on January 31, 2025 at 4:06 pm

    Bull crap watch Scotti

  46. @rosslangerak8361 on January 31, 2025 at 4:06 pm

Range goes way down when you go from city to highway. These bikes are specifying a highway range around 100 miles. I assume that means starting with a 100% charge and running it down to 0. Since we typically start looking for a charger at about 20%, and do a quick charge to about 80%, that’s a useful range on the highway of only 60 miles. Highway range has barely changed in the last 5 years; perhaps a 10% improvement.

California has mandated that by 2035, every new vehicle in the state must be electric or hybrid electric. As far as I can tell, California has done nothing to expand the charging grid. Electric vehicles are useless if you can’t charge them. To accommodate electric motorcycles, they will need a charging station every 30 miles on every highway, backroad, and forest road, and every small community and junction in the state. That’s just 11 years away.

In the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, no one had to mandate that all carriages be gas powered. Early horseless carriages got their fuel from the General Store in 5 gallon cans. As cars became more common, service stations popped up. Cars became dominant because they were better. No one tried to ban horses. You could still buy a horse and ride it into the hills.

There is no need to mandate electric cars. The market is growing. If California wants to encourage use of electric vehicles, they need to build the infrastructure. They shouldn’t be mandating anything until they have the charging stations in place.

I have a question can you get a m1 license with a electric motorcycle?

  48. @CoasterRob on January 31, 2025 at 4:10 pm

I’ve been looking at evoke Classic just wish they’d mass produce for UK

  49. @GiovanniMazzeo-r1n on January 31, 2025 at 4:11 pm

I think you need to massively increase the number of charging stations at motorway services for electric motorcycles to become a reality.I have an electric car and there’s still not enough charging stations.I have a petrol supernaked motorcycle so not selling it yet until things improve.

  50. @geneevans7885 on January 31, 2025 at 4:12 pm

I’ve got the weirdest feeling that Harley is gonna be a big fish in a few years.
