It’s good to see that at least someone’s representatives are representing their constituents. Good on VA!

  4. @DeusDracones on January 31, 2025 at 6:06 pm

Appreciate you standing up for Virginia with this bill, but it puzzles me how it is a state based policy for the "NATIONAL Guard".

  5. @patrickostergren3828 on January 31, 2025 at 6:07 pm

Was this is actually a problem?

  6. @James-x1n6o on January 31, 2025 at 6:08 pm

This is perfect for a national guard. Marines and special forces have always been outside of this restriction.

  7. @anngaine7948 on January 31, 2025 at 6:09 pm

Whole lot of nothing. It’s already in the constitution. Remember the constitution

  8. @mattsmith1859 on January 31, 2025 at 6:09 pm

Holy fuck, something from this dipshit i agree with. Too bad it will never withstand a federal court challenge

  9. @larryhall3041 on January 31, 2025 at 6:09 pm

    Hence the title, National Guard.

  10. @MidnightDesperado66 on January 31, 2025 at 6:11 pm

Spoken like a Veteran. Those who didn’t offer that blank check would think twice if they were also required to go.

  11. @blakeeaster609 on January 31, 2025 at 6:13 pm

    Well done.

  12. @Wake-the-Woke on January 31, 2025 at 6:15 pm

    Nice work! And perfect mug!

  15. @redsaber7929 on January 31, 2025 at 6:18 pm

Food for thought….how ya gonna pay for the Virginia National Guard when the Feds pull their funding? Not saying you are wrong but there are always repercussions for actions where the Government is concerned.

  16. @firstfromabove on January 31, 2025 at 6:21 pm

Passed at a subcommittee, meaning it hasn’t actually been passed into law. While this should be common sense and the norm in every single state, there are too many state and federal officials that make money from these conflicts in one way or another. They’ll never let this actually be signed into law.

  17. @adamwright2596 on January 31, 2025 at 6:24 pm

Hell yeah, now let’s get it for every state. Which I know has to come from every state. But this IS Facebook. Not the local shrubber

  18. @stuartd9741 on January 31, 2025 at 6:24 pm

Absolutely and this is how it should be done..
    Consensus.
Some people are just have itchy fingers to get involved in other countries problems..

  19. @rickyh223 on January 31, 2025 at 6:25 pm

  20. @brianstreeper3576 on January 31, 2025 at 6:25 pm

At war since 1864. War emergency powers

  21. @olcamo1 on January 31, 2025 at 6:26 pm

I dont understand your sistem completely. Tis 1 state, not federal. And it is guard not said tis military(might be same thing). Does not sound like you will be keeping your military inside usa as the rest of us hopes

  22. @arumatai on January 31, 2025 at 6:28 pm

FINALLY the power to wage war has a chance to go back to congress. GREAT WORK!

  23. @freedomlover5940 on January 31, 2025 at 6:32 pm

  27. @timothymccarty4620 on January 31, 2025 at 6:36 pm

That’s funny cuz President Bush both of them at the time did not have permission from Congress to go to war

  28. @btutewiler9306 on January 31, 2025 at 6:37 pm

National Gaurd deployment’s are vacations. They just sit on the fob, eat good food, and make tax feee combat pay. You screwed that gaurd out of chill deployments and tax free paychecks. Good job bro😂

Thank you for this common sense law

  35. @Boonemyster on January 31, 2025 at 6:48 pm

Bravo! Now this needs to go nationwide!

  36. @AflacMan13 on January 31, 2025 at 6:49 pm

Now, PLEASE, reinstate all STATE MILITIAS. NOT the National Guard. The Natty Guard are a FEDERAL Employment system, ON LOAN to each State. EACH STATE NEEDS ITS OEN INDEPENDENT MILITIA ALSO.

  37. @2bitninja280 on January 31, 2025 at 6:50 pm

That’s interesting. I used to be in the Guard. I wonder if other states are doing this? How exactly does the law stop someone in the VA guard from getting title 10 orders? I thought once the person or unit in the guard transfers from state money to federal money it’s out of the states control? @Nickjfreitas

  38. @thepattern8236 on January 31, 2025 at 6:50 pm

Excellent news and a great model the rest of the states should follow.

  39. @kurtisethier4084 on January 31, 2025 at 6:50 pm

Declaring war is more of logistical nightmare just ask Margaret thatcher

  40. @Certifiably_Unhinged on January 31, 2025 at 6:51 pm

Now, let’s get the other 49 to follow.

  41. @foxfieldfarmer5570 on January 31, 2025 at 6:54 pm

    Amen!

  42. @crisrock0128 on January 31, 2025 at 6:54 pm

I dont think trump is too happy with that tbh.

  43. @jenniferwolz1531 on January 31, 2025 at 6:56 pm

  48. @fuckgoogle93 on January 31, 2025 at 7:00 pm

Why is this even a thing? When did this change?

  49. @JeffHenson-n4p on January 31, 2025 at 7:01 pm

    Taking our country back!!

  50. @PhilipPaxton on January 31, 2025 at 7:02 pm

Awesome news. An actual declaration of war and actually defining what victory looks like before declaring war are critical to being successful in that war.
