This is correct. I have a similar version.
Battery banks charge well on grid (or powerful solar power)
When fully charged, they’ll last DAYS to power your phone.
When left out in the sun all day, it takes DAYS to charge them fully.

You can charge your phone with its solar power, but these are best used in an emergency.

Better than I expected actually. If I was stranded on a desert island I could get an hour of youtube vids in per day.

  3. @felixiii4186 on February 1, 2025 at 3:21 pm

  24. @andredeketeleastutecomplex on February 1, 2025 at 3:43 pm

Just buy normal powerbanks, and charge them in a socket or with a real 7W panel. Never keep them in the sun, the battery will damage, may bloat, or even explode.

    These things are a scam!

PS: either a fully charged powerbank, OR a 7W panel (take a panel that has USB-A or USB-C output) can do the trick in emergencies.

  25. @pinky1933 on February 1, 2025 at 3:44 pm

I have one of these too and yes they suck. I took mine camping thinking how it would be so helpful. Nope I let that sucker marinate in the sun while we were doing our thing, only to turn it on and have about 10 minutes out of it. So don’t rely on them.

  26. @IamDrDre on February 1, 2025 at 3:46 pm

I’m homeless I have four they don’t work in the sun I have to go somewhere and charge them and there all different brands have the same one you have even none of them charged in the sun!

  27. @ksc1406 on February 1, 2025 at 3:49 pm

1.2w/h actually SHOULD have noticably increased the nattery percentage. Maybe its because you had your phone on max brightness the entire time. Lol

  28. @PT-mj3bk on February 1, 2025 at 3:49 pm

Did you really make 2 videos about this

  29. @bettertvreceptionwithfoilf7100 on February 1, 2025 at 3:50 pm

I have one of these and let me tell you how well it works. If you leave it in the dashboard of your car all day or you leave it in the kitchen window in full sunlight, it won’t charge it enough to top it off, ever.
You can easily charged it up in the house when you plug it into the wall and it will hold that charge like a storage device which is awesome but a storage device is usually smaller because you don’t have to have a worthless solar panel attached to it

  30. @oisaacs3372 on February 1, 2025 at 3:51 pm

    Its not a SOLAR bank…untrue!

  31. @kiwioffgrid2437 on February 1, 2025 at 3:52 pm

I bought one in Germany…..and it never charged at all.
    They are a rip off.

  32. @reliefmango6 on February 1, 2025 at 3:52 pm

genuinely curious – would you buy?

  38. @Race-dn4to on February 1, 2025 at 3:59 pm

Some people are saying that a normal chargeable power bank it’s better, hm yea exept that those power banks can also be charged with a cable, the solar panel is for some emergency situation or very slow passive recharge, I’ve got one of those if fully charged it can power my phone 0-80% for 3 times without needing a recharge.
Using only the solar panel it would take days to fully charge the power bank, but after 10h under non optimal sunlight (cloudy sky/sub optimal angle) it does 0-15% of my phone (5000mAh) which is decent considering you use it when you cannot have acces to electricity, otherwise i would charge both the phone and the power bank via USB.

Also there are some with both solar panle and handcrank dynamos, but idk how much u need to turn that crank in order to achive charge necessary for an emergency call

  39. @Asanubisyt4716 on February 1, 2025 at 4:03 pm

I have had an idea to connect this to a power bank and make a daisy chain of solar and power banks for science

  40. @harshbarj on February 1, 2025 at 4:05 pm

Solar power banks are mostly a scam. Unless they have a fold out panel they simply can’t fully charge a dead battery in any reasonable time.

Only time they might be better than nothing is in a survival situation. If out in the middle of nowhere it’s better than nothing but still not a feature I’d pay much for.

  41. @dwaynewalker986 on February 1, 2025 at 4:06 pm

If you don’t turn the solar device to directly face the sun throughout the length of exposure you will receive drastically reduced results.
You can’t just lay the device flat on the ground all day and expect optimum performance.

  42. @ceanncora2 on February 1, 2025 at 4:12 pm

    And it’s so cute.

  44. @smurfdaloc on February 1, 2025 at 4:14 pm

Uhhhhh…charge it through the usb and use it as a normal power bank.

    C typye

  46. @RkRk-xu1ww on February 1, 2025 at 4:17 pm

If you want for an emergency then just buy a solar panel and attach it to your smartphone

  47. @jorgemasiques2498 on February 1, 2025 at 4:17 pm

I bought one , not good at all . Hours and hours and doesn’t get charged. It is to charge it on ac wall. No good for solar

  48. @davidlipke6530 on February 1, 2025 at 4:17 pm

On full charge you can run a cellphone 8 hours with both phone and solar battery fully charged before you start . I used one to navigate while driving because my vehicle did not have a USB or 12 volt socket.

  49. @Ayokunleyin on February 1, 2025 at 4:17 pm
