Thanks so much for another very informative video. It was very well thought out and executed. I am in the market for these batteries and am SO glad that I checked to see if you had a video about them. You have some of the BEST videos on YouTube! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
Fantastic review!
hello, i have a question for any one who knows about e bike batteries.
i have a 48v 17.5 AH batterie for my bike, after a litle bit more then 6000 km i starting having an issue. when i use my bike and i draw i bit of power 500w or more the baterie on the display drops to 38v. the strange thing is that the motor stops but the display stays lit, and after mayby 30 sec the power goes back to normal. but when i ride with litle power the baterie fonctions normaly. i thought it was voltage sagg but it seems a litle extreme, ive open up the baterie to check the cells voltage but they are all good, i was thinking it might be the bms but im not sure. if anyone can help me i would be greatfull.
Late for this one, but great video again!
So sick of bad ratings/marketing, especially on CHINESE junk!
I think the ultrafire you got were knock offs, I’ve got them before and they never had more than 2500 or 3000 mah.
Great review like always. I have one question, if it has already been answered, I apologise for asking again.
Do you recommend protected 18650 batteries?
LG is making batteries in KOREA? Whose company did they steal to get that plant?
Ultra junk!
This test is 4 years old, and we know chinese batteries [at least for cars] have improved. However, a reasonable indicator seems to be the weight above 45 grams.
Used to “Made in China” or “Made in Japan” had a bad connotation. Not anymore. “Made in USA” is the new stigma!
To be fair to Utrafire, they never clarified if the 9800 mAh battery rating is for a single charge or the lifetime of the battery. ;-D
Thank you. My conclusion is: DO NOT buy those 9800 mAh batteries or other no-name ones. If you want to be more sure about the quality of 18650 cells you can buy and disassemble a medium-price laptop battery.
Fake like any other Chinese crap
4 years after this video was done, the prices have SKYROCKETED!!!!
4:06 "sheef-life around 10 years; Enciromental…"
And to add insult to injury you can’t buy any of the top 4 batteries on Amazon UK. Only generic untested junk. 👍👍
Castinoo: "Sheef-life"
BXE: "shell life"
This man is outstanding
Please do an updated video of newer 18650 batteries.
Appreciate all of your reviews, always thorough and well done.
PF, Greay video! How many amps were the fans drawing during the last test? Since it has been four+ years, could there be a longer lasting 18650 out there? I need to build a battery pack that will run a model train for 4 or 5 hours. The load will be less than 5 amps.
I could use your help in the future. If you’d like to help me decide on which products to test, please consider subscribing to the channel. Thank you very much and look forward to many more product test reviews. Todd
You forgot to mention that cars, such as a Tesla Model X, has 7,256 of them. In my experience and testing you get the most cycles out of the 2,200 to 2,500 mah batteries and it goes down as the mah go up, with 3,200 to 3,500 from a quality supplier as being the peak of real and reliable from the 18650 form factor. I agree, when you buy the ones with the big numbers, you end up getting more like 1,650 – 1,900mah and they lose capacity rapidly with recharges.
The Chinese play the same crooked tricks with lumens on LED flashlights and battery packs. For battery packs, there are videos online of the equipment used to clean up cells from old battery packs and spot weld "new" packs together. I’ve tried a couple for cordless tools and sent them both back for having nowhere near their rated capacity. The best you can do off the shelf is a good deal from a reputable tool OEM, which unfortunately means buying tool with the battery and charger. They play the same game with batteries as inkjet printers play with ink. Give away the item and make a killing on the supplies. EGO Power+ BA2800T 56-Volt 5.0 Ah Battery $299. EGO LB7654 765 CFM Variable-Speed 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Leaf Blower with Shoulder Strap, 5.0Ah Battery and Charger Included, $299. There is no battery pack standard designs for that reason.
Buy chinese battery with note: 9999mah, appearing that real capacity is 1000mah. Then putting it in cold weather you get 100mah. After that you realize, its usefull just to throw towards enemys
The Chinese Battery claiming 9800mAh ……complete fake , !
Chinese export officials Should take notice ……..! Bad for their reputation ,…….
I would love to see a battle between P45B, 30T, 40T, 50S and so on 💪
Only reliable product tester in all of human history.
Crazy that I just discovered this channel recently. Quite a nice job on analysis in your videos. Thanks again for the great reviews!
Claims, claims, claims …. and then you with reality, reality, reality. I’m sure I speak for many viewers when I thank you heartily for your efforts.
I’m looking to replace my Acebeam 18650 3100mAh batteries. I have two Acebeam torches, Acebeam X80 and Acebeam K65. Each of them take 4 batteries. Cannot get the Acebeam batteries in South Africa.
What website do you use to buy your batteries
LG and Samsung ones are really good value
Measure the internal resistance then measure the “basti” can you elaborate on what “basti” is??
MURATA (sony) US18650VTC4 is awesome. 2.1amps per cell and 30A constant current discharge
I read a technical journal which stated that it is physically impossible for a 18650 to contain more than 3600Ah.
Thats why Tesla invented the 4680 which is physically larger than the 18650 containing more lithium.
!
Do you have any good links on where to buy the good batteries from ? I killed my LG MJR pack it was 5 years old and still strong but didn’t isolate it before I left for work and It died while I was away. I just need some trusted sources as I know there’s a lot of fake branding going on as well.
Panasonic makes many models I would assume. Which model Panasonic are you talking about?
I think the m on the Chinese batteries must mean microamp… Not milliamp hahaha
What a surprise… Lying Chinese bastards
0:39 UltraFire…. very good name for a lithium-ion battery.
Excellent video! Thanks for your hard work testing all the batteries. Chinese companies are more than capable of making great batteries, so I don’t know why there is such a sea of crap to swim through to make what should be a simple buying decision. I guess it’s simple if you just want quality and are not tempted by crazy fake specs or low prices as you can just buy from reputable brands I guess 🙂
As always another great vid, thank you so much for taking your time to do these for us.
Can I get an affiliate link for the LG HE4 or LG MJ1?
I’ve been researching 18650’s for hours! I should’ve come here first. You’re the best!
Chinese are scamming the world. They just lie about the spec of anything. Where do you go to complain? By the time you realise they already have your money.
Even if rating was true to get higher mah you have to trade off amps. LG, Sony, and Samsung are legit batteries. Best 18650 battery samsung 25r that is why its used in cordless tool packs.
Here i am looking for facts and information and I love that I somehow end up here more often than not. Love the Chanel man.
We need a updated review on these batteries as it’s been 4 years and a lot has changed
. Never buy this brand or anything like that. It’s a big lie and impossible to make that size battery with that kind of capacity.
. Maximum capacity of 18650 battery by today’s technology is 3600mAh and if you see anything higher, just don’t buy. Jan 11 – 2025
I am just worried about the sheef-life on the UltraFire, but at 990, uh, I mean, 9900mAh it won’t be much of a fire.
Remember their motto, ‘If it’s Chinese, it’s a lie’
